The Gift

I still remember the time I was talking to BlurryNurse about God and the blessings and the many benefits of "being a Christian" so to say. The more I talk about it, the more I come to realise how big and great that gift of God is. A lot of times we tend to see it as just a simple gift of eternal life. We talk about the gift of eternal life until it sounds so normal, so common already that it becomes reduced in its value. If you don't think that way, it's fine. I grew up in a Christian home and hear about that all the time until it has become a norm. We fail to realise how much more that gift includes.

As bloody as it is depicted in the picture above, that is actually the gift that we are getting. On the overall, from the picture, the main gift is the gift of eternal life which we get from the death of Jesus on the cross. It doesn't mean that we will live forever. Everyone lives forever. It's just where you are going when you die and that gift of eternal life is actually the gift of living with God always. And behind this gift there are lots of other gifts but I shall slowly go in a little later. :)

The second thing that we can see from the picture is the blood that flows. And from the blood, we get a few gifts - the gifts of cleasing, protection and healing. I will talk about healing first. If you watch The Passion where Jesus took all those beatings and slashes of the whip that cuts his skin so deep, He willingly took it all and took it to the max. The only reason for it is as what He promised - that by Jesus's wounds, we are healed. I begin to see it this time when my mom is playing The Passion over and over to test the CD. His wounds are for our healing. Claim that!

Gift of being cleansed... Our sins will become as white as snow by the blood of Jesus. There is one law that operates that is - shedding of blood or sacrifice is needed for the redeption of sins. In the past, sacrifices of animals are used to redeem the people. But the animals were not perfect sacrifices that can totally redeem people because the animals are not perfect too. Jesus came as the perfect sacrifice for our sins. He is sinless, the perfect lamb of God who is sacrificed on the cross once and for all. Our sins are all totally forgiven. We are not as white as snow, no more stains, no more dirt.

Gift of protection... there's power in the blood of Jesus. As we are covered by the blood of Jesus, the evil one cannot touch us. It's like the blood of Jesus is the substance that burns the devil. :D Hahas... I want to get scriptures to support all these but I shall need more time and wisdom and guidance to get them :)

I'm experiencing healing, instant relief from prayer in Jesus' name. I've experienced cleansing of dirtiness of heart and mind. I've experience freedom in Christ from all bondages. I've experience the love of God. I've experienced the nudging of the Holy Spirit. I've experienced nearness to God.

I've experienced too much that I cannot deny that God is real.

And deep in my heart, I want you all to experience it all too. Know the person Jesus and accept him as your Saviour and Lord. Remember - both Saviour and LORD. Seek Him. He has great and wondrous things to show you :)

And now, I see that this gift, though it may seemed seeminly small, once you decide to receive and open it, you'll get a splash of surprise and delight! :) Go get it! xD
