Crucify the flesh

Do you truly want intimacy with God?

How much do you want?

How badly do you want?

Would you sacrifice everything for it?

Then Jesus said to his disciples, "If anyone wants to be a follower of mine, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For anyone who keeps his life for himself shall lose it; and anyone who loses his life for me shall find it again. What profit is there if you gain the whole world - and lose eternal life? What can be compared with the value of eternal life? For I, the Song of Mankind, shall come with my angels in the glory of my Father and judge each person according to his deeds. And some of you standing here at this moment will certainly live to see me coming in my Kingdom." - Matthew 16:24-28

To truly follow Christ is to crucify the flesh and all its desires and that includes our own desires. We should pursue the desires of God. God knows the passions and the gifting and talents He gave you so He will not give you something that you cannot do. Sometimes some things maybe seemingly hard and not compatible, but all in all, God brings out the good of all situations. There's always a purpose to why you are there in the first place. We may not know it fully now but we will know it in the end when we meet Him.

How much we want intimacy with Him will show how much you are willing to sacrifice for Him and that will show how much you have crucified your flesh and all its desires. Without denying yourself, it is hard to fully experience God.

Ask God what He wants you to focus on today, what He wants you to do today, who He wants you to talk to today, who He wants you to touch, pray for and help today. Ask God what is His plans for your future. Ask God what He wants you to learn today. It's all about Jesus.

The coming of the Lord is like a thief creeping in quietly without anyone know where and when. Be vigilant, keep watch at all times!

I'm still learning. Have you started? :)
