Waaaaaa... I searched Google images for Chinese New Year and all the dragons and snakes and whatnots all came out. ANYWAYS, I actually didn't realize that in 8 days it is actually Chinese New Year already!
This year I don't really have much time to help prepare with mom in terms of making cakes. With the start of work and other commitments, really there isn't much time to do. Mom made the cakes and biscuits really fast now like in one day she can bake like 3 types of biscuits and 3 to 4 cakes! So yeah. Lol. I should try to make time to do my sole duty every year - set up the fake cherry blossoms. Hmm..
Lately it has been raining rather much. Today the office actually felt like when I first stepped out of the airport and into the winter air of Melbourne. Colddd... But I like it in a way ahahaha.. Met up with a super old friend who apparently have been in Melbie since after Form 5. She was my kindy and primary classmate! We didn't really stay in touch in Secondary School years because she was in a different class and she said she was a hermit back then and I said I was a hermit back then so we never became hermits together! Haha! But miraculously this time when we met together, there was an almost instant "click" between the both of us and we both felt like we could stay in touch. It was a nice feeling in a way. There was another friend present but there wasn't much of a "click" then she left earlier and both of us stayed on to chat for like 3 hours! We found similar things to talk about like Melbourne, Youtube Videos like WongFu and JinnyBoy's Abuden, our values, us being introverts haha and so on. It was fun :)
So yeah, weddings of friends, sudden meet up with friends from many years ago. Some clicked, some don't. This is the age where some people wanted to make connections with people to further their connections. My friend was very frank (and so am I lol and this sounds like the part where the blondes will hold hands and jump up and down and scream LOL) and she said that her mom asked her to try to see if there's any friends she could have connections with here as she is looking at coming back here to work. She has been working in Melbie for one and a half years already at some laboratory. So yeah.. we enjoyed each other and for the connection after this, we'll see how it goes.
This Thursday there will be another wedding dinner to attend. Last night two other people who are invited contacted me and I kinda suspected why. Hahaha. I don't know how they know I was invited because I really don't know who else is invited. They were kind of in the panic of "AH THE WEDDING IS ON THURSDAY SHOULD WE PREPARE ANG PAO BUT THE INVITATION POLITELY DECLINED GIFTS TRADITION DICTATES THAT WE SHOULD ADVERTISE THEIR WEDDING!" and asked me what I will do.
Kinda hilarious. Frankly, as a very direct person, you decline gifts, I will not go against your wishes. And frankly, I don't like it when my grandma forces my parents to give ang pows in situations where some odd tradition that doesn't make sense to me, dictates that they should give ang pows. She also dictates in a manner that is rather unpleasant like she dictates the amount to give and she forces them to give like A LOT. I'm not against giving but to force someone to give is just...
So far classes are going well. Bahasa Kebangsaan, still working it out but they said that the students are like that because they don't like the subject itself so.. yeah :\ Other than that, things have been well here :)
Now I'm sounding like a weather forcast person hahaha. That's all for this time round :)
