First Day in School.

So today is the first day of school. Today I finally found a place to top up that Maxis sim card for my prepaid broadband which means FINALLY, INTERNETTTTTT. I didn't had internet the past two days and today finally it's like, CIVILIZATION!

So the school is an all boys' school. This is really my first time. The teachers were uber friendly and welcoming and helpful. The atmostphere is so nice unlike my ex-school's afternoon session teachers. The staff room looks pretty stuffy and packed. Each teacher has their own cubicle fully stacked with books so it's like they're all hidden in the sea of books. Sometimes cannot even see the top of their heads. We were given a place to hide in - the discipline room. It was nice and spacey with air conditioning! But the traffic can be quite busy with students kept coming in or being sent in to be disciplined by the discipline teacher. But otherwise, it's quite nice. I like the space.

I've got 2 classes - 10 periods. Which is wayyyyyy much lesser than what I had before as a temporary teacher. That is like more than half of what a teacher has. But I think we'll get a lot of relief classes. Today was quite fine. We only had 2 each. Last time I had the most, 4 per day. A lot of things are similar to my previous school just that boys can be uber loud! I went for the relief classes, 5B which is the best class for form 5 is very nice to me as they had things to do and there were not much students and they were pretty much in control of themselves. 1K were cute but uncontrollably loud and very active. But me raising my voice did help control the class like 30-40% because after a short span of 1 minute the noise started again.

My classes are 1B and 4H. Tomorrow I'll enter 1B which is the best of the form. The teacher said they are quite well behaved and some of them are quite advanced in their English language proficiency. 4H on the other hand (I'll be entering on Wednesday I think. Double periods ><) is quite rumbustious. This is according to my brief observation while passing by the class and also from what the teacher told me.

So now, to plan for this week's classes!

I came back with sore feet from walking home in those black shoes after a whole morning in those black shoes >< The plastic flats I wore walking to school were even more painful than the black heeled old fashioned shoes. (Imagine those Sunday black shoes with thick soles at the back.) OH AND WALKING UP TO MY APARTMENT which is AT THE TOP - 5 storeys high. >< I think I'll resort to wearing slippers and change in school. I also got a headache. Need to sleep earlier and perhaps it's also from information overload from this first day to school.

I shall retire to rest a little before resuming work later.

So that's my first day of school :D I'll try to update as a log in for my experience in school as well as thoughts that come my way.

I feel like giving myself a hot feet soak. Better go lie down a bit.
