Of Birthday Celebrations :)

I forgot how many times I've organised birthday parties at home for myself except that they are rare because normally I avoid all the fuss especially the stress on my parents ESPECIALLY for my mum. She's the perfectionist that will cook and prepare the whole day, worried that things are not enough or not presentable enough to guests. She worries about the amount, what plates to use and whatever else that I don't know. One thing I know is that she takes pride in her food so she will cook them all herself and present them best and thrives in people's praises on her food.

Okies back to birthday parties. One memorable birthday was the first one I organised with friends. I felt then that I finally had good friends and I just like to invite them to my house to have a good time with food. I love the good presents but I love the presence and time with them more. That one was a good one too with lots of loved ones, basically all the loved ones that I had in church. There was Auntie Michele, Auntie Laura who had to leave earlier, Auntie Sharlene and Pastor John, Lawson, Jonathan W, Chu Kion, Bi Ho, Roy, Ah Liang and a lot more. That time there were a lot of people of various ages. My mum sure was stressed. Heh. I still have their presents :) I think that was the last one I organised at home. I didn't had games then so it was just basically free flow of food and fellowship. That was 31 December 2007.

Then I organised one for Sokomo years ago. Then there was Louis and Reuben's at their house with Andrea xD And two of mine, one is a surprise one organised by Andrea when Auntie Sheena was around which is in 2008 at Shabu-Shabu and another initiated by myself but organised by Alan beginning 2009 with GodBro and all around. Now to jot them down, I realised that I have always had nice birthdays with great friends. Then when it comes to university, beginning of this year, church friends in KL don't remember my birthday and uni ones are too busy to do anything. Uni friends did bought a small cake to celebrate a late birthday and it wasn't anything much. This one was on a Sunday so I went church and I became rather emo because none of them remembered my birthday. Only one who's not from my CG told my CG members and they had to come and ask me and they just sing the birthday song and nothing else. That was what I felt the saddest birthday of all.

At least this time one I get to celebrate a bit :) A small and as Terry calls it, "cosy" group. Invited 12, 6 came and one later. At least they came :) I got rather depressed and sad in the afternoon when last minute cancellation came in. The rainy moment came and past and I stood up to prepare for the rest of them who's coming. They came, everyone ate, every laughed heartily (Me too of course!) and the games weren't as horrible as the guys expected. Haha! They were fearful after the gate crashing for Oliver's wedding xD But they enjoyed themselves. The awesome thing is that they helped clean up and Sheng washed everything! (Chivalrous eh, Paulie? XD LOL. Your name popped up ever once in a while as we talked so you are remembered in Sibu! :D) Then one by one went home and those who can stay late hung around and chatted until nearly midnight before they depart. It was nice and enjoyable and I hope everyone enjoyed themselves! I forgot to take a group photo tho! But I shall remember this vividly especially now that I've written it down :D

One thing in my mind was, I kind of don't want KL church friends know that I have celebrated an advance birthday because I fear that they won't bother to do anything when the actual day neared :( But I shall hold the awesome presents I've got and remember the fond friends and super loved friends I have back home <3

Love you all! :)
