But... when the old people of Wesley Church kept talking about only that performance of that year in the years after the event, don't you think something is a bit... wrong? It's like they are stuck there and they should have come up with better things, more and not stay in the past, only reminiscing and never moving on. That performance was 3 years ago and they still kept talking about it and missing it.
Since then the youths that performed have moved on. We reminisce and miss the moment but what is happening now is more exciting and to return to that time, I don't think we will feel the same as it was before. Times have changed. That was a one time thing and we should be moving from glory to glory, from one level to the other, to keep changing and keep moving as God is always moving forward.
Last week David Oh from CHC preached, we should be past empowered, present grounded and future oriented.
Don't be stuck in the past like Miss Havisham from Great Expectations by Charles Dickens or Emily from A Rose For Emily by William Faulkner nor be obsessed in the present and become hedonistic like the fools of today to live for today and today only, to eat and be merry and not care for tomorrow.
Time is like a great river that keeps flowing. The Holy Spirit is the River of living water that keeps flowing too. I am flowing and flying with Him. Are you moving on with life or still tied down to past hurts or the good old days? Or are you being a fool, living for only today?
